Swedish Queen's Jam (Drottningsylt) is a beloved Scandinavian preserve made with a regal pairing of blueberries and raspberries. Sweet, tart and jewel-toned, this easy jam brings together two of Sweden's most treasured summer berries into one delicious spoonful.
With no canning required, this easy refrigerator (or freezer) jam variation of Queen's Jam is simple enough to make at home any time of year.

Traditionally served with toast, Swedish Pancakes, waffles, or tucked inside pastries, this blueberry raspberry jam is as versatile as it is beautiful. The name "Queen's Jam" is said to reflect the luxurious pairing of these two prized berries, which ripen around the same time in the Scandinavian countryside.

Substitutions and Variations
- Use Frozen Berries - Replace the fresh berries with frozen for a jam that can be made at any time of the year.

- Reduced Sugar - For a less sweet jam, you can reduce the amount of sugar by 2-4 tablespoons.
How to Make Swedish Queen's Jam

- Step 1: In a medium saucepan, combine the berries, sugar, lemon juice and salt.

- Step 2: Place the pan over medium heat and bring to a gentle simmer. Cook, stirring often, until the berries break down and the jam thickens slightly, about 10-15 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract.
Expert Tips
Don't be tempted to overcook the jam; it will continue to thicken as it cools.

What to Serve with Queen's Jam
My favorite ways to serve Queen's Jam are slathered on buttery toast (it is devine with this Limpa bread recipe), tucked inside Swedish Pancakes or dolloped on top of these Norwegian Waffles along with a bit of sour cream or creme fraiche You could also swirl it into yogurt or skyr or spoon it over vanilla ice cream. If you make your own, it would be lovely with this Homemade Cardamom Ice Cream
